'In 2040, as a growing global population takes the planet to breaking point, the New United Nations met to discuss the crisis, and Resolution 12/38/17a was issued. It dictates that every human on earth is not allowed to live beyond 80 years of age.

A media executive popularised the cull by broadcasting a weekly chat show. As family and friends watch live in the studio, a panel of celebrities judged the volunteers’ confessions, and the best one wins a £10m inheritance pot to give away. Both A.I. and an anonymous group of humans, known only as The Council, checked the validity of what was being said.

One evening, a contestant states he had no family and friends, but still wants to play. What started as an apparently simple confession, becomes a global manhunt after The Council trigger the Exodus Protocol for the first time ever.'
